Cyndaquil Amigurumi

I’m continuing on with my “Gotta Crochet ‘Em All” Pokemon Series! And I’ve decided to release Cyndaquil amigurumi as a free crochet pattern on my blog.

Here he is having fun peeking out of his Pokeball Pod. He’s a perfect fit!

Cyndaquil Amigurumi

This Johto Starter (and soon to be Pokemon Legends Arceus Starter) is such a cute lil critter! Cyndaquil’s snout reminds me a bit of an anteater. For the design of crochet Cyndaquil, I first created his body in an aran cream color first. Then I created his blue body patch, wrapped it around the body, and sewed it down.

His most distinguishing feature though is his fiery flame on his back. I used eyelash yarn for the flame because it does a really good job of mimicking the texture of fire. It’s a bit hard to tell from the photo, but his flame actually consists of 2 colors, both red and a bit of orange towards the bottom.

I gave Cyndaquil amigurumi smiling eyes made from black felt because it gives him such a cute expression! Alternately, you can also embroider his eyes from floss or yarn if you prefer.

You can see the reference of his size when he’s in palm of my hand. Crochet Cyndaquil is about 3.5 inches / 9 cm tall. He’ll fit quite comfy in his Pokeball too!

And here’s Cyndaquil hanging out with the rest of the Pokemon Crochet crew. It seems Callie the Cat is quite the Pokemon collector!
