Scrump Amigurumi – Free Crochet Pattern Lilo and Stitch

So this Scrump amigurumi was crocheted a while back, but it’s only recently that I got around to writing up the free crochet pattern for it.

My friend has a tote bag in the pastel color of mint and I was brainstorming ideas for a cute matching crochet keychain accessory.

She loves Disney, so then I thought, why not crochet Scrump from Lilo and Stitch? It would be the perfect matching mint color!

Scrump Crochet Keychain

I made crochet Scrump keychain in a size that’s a good accessory size for a bag, but I also wanted it to be a companion size to match the other Lilo and Stitch crochet pattern I have on my blog as well. Here they are together!

Scrump amigurumi is a fast project to work up and you can feel free to add your own creativity to the details. For instance, there’s variations on how Scrump can look depending on what sort of eyes you would use. Here are some of my variations.

I’ve done one with black button eyes and another one with wood color eyes.

Crochet Scrump Variations with Button Eyes

If you don’t like to hand sew buttons, there’s also an option for crochet eyes as well.

The trickiest part as always is making the face. And for me, that would be doing the embroidery stitching for the mouth and smile. So I usually take my time doing it, but it really is one of essential features to get that ragdoll/voodoo stitch look.

I show how to do the mouth embroidery in my video crochet tutorial, so don’t be afraid to try it! You can find both the video crochet tutorial and free written crochet pattern below.

SCRUMP AMIGURUMI ASSEMBLY
You can also watch the amigurumi assembly video here.

1. Sew Legs to Body.

2. Sew Arms to Body.

3. Sew on Collar.

4. Sew on Straw Hair.

5. Sew on Hair Bow in front of Straw Hair.

6. Sew on Button Eyes. (Note: DO NOT use button eyes if making for small children, as it can be a choking hazard) The Right Eye size is slightly bigger so I use a 17.5mm button. The Left Eye Button size is 15mm.

If using crochet eyes instead: Use yellow yarn to embroider X’s for the eyes. You can use a 4 ply worsted weight yarn and split it in half to 2 ply and use that as an embroidery thread.

7. With DK yarn in pink, embroider the mouth, giving it a stitched smile look.

8. Sew on Belly Button.

9. Optional: Add a keychain accessory.
